孙像镍币是法币的辅币，正面为孙中山先生侧面像和民国纪年，背面为布币图及面值。该辅币1936年开铸，至1943年停铸，于1949年退出流通，因国民政府未加以充分回收，现今存世量很大。进入收藏市场后，成交价低廉，加之书刊杂志宣传少，泉友们对这类镍辅币始终不屑一顾，长期被市场边缘化，属极冷门品种。笔者前后花费了3年时间，才收集到曾流通过的全套仅21种版式的孙像镍币(试铸未流通镍币除外)。在此，笔者就孙像镍币的产生背景、铸币历程及一些鲜为人知的历史事件。21年双帆币是国民政府放弃金本位币制、确定银本位币制，公布“铸造条例草案”前夕发行的第一种“船洋”银币，曾被财政部定为国币。银币正面中央镌孙中山侧面头像，上边缘镌“中华民国二十一年”八字，背面是双帆船放洋图，船两侧镌楷书“壹元”各一字，船帆上面镌三鸟高飞，船的右侧海面上镌海上日出和九条芒线。银币正式发行流通后，因为银币背面图案中的太阳和高飞的三鸟容易使人联想到侵略中国的日本和日本战机轰炸中国领土之意，所以“三鸟币”开始铸造不久就停铸了。“三鸟币”铸造时间短，铸额小，传世稀少。
