中国陶匠们对白釉瓷器的探索可谓源远流长。白瓷在汉以后烧制青瓷的基础上发展起来的,唐代邢窑是白瓷烧造的成熟期,茶圣陆羽曾对邢窑白瓷有过“类银”、“类雪”的评价;优美白瓷是宋代陶瓷的精粹,北有定窑,南有景德镇青白瓷;元代枢府器质感厚润,是为甜白釉的前身。明代,白釉瓷器的烧造进入黄金时期。

甜白釉是永乐窑创烧的一种白釉。由于永乐白白瓷制品中许多都薄到半脱胎的程度,能够光照见影。在釉暗花刻纹的薄胎器面上,施以温润如玉的白釉,便给人以一种“甜”的感受,故名“甜白”。

甜白釉的脱胎制作工艺极其复杂,制作从配料、拉坯、利坯(修坯)、上釉到绘画、烧制,须经四十多道工序,全部采用手工,分三次烧成。尤以利坯和艺术加工最为精细。利坯要经过粗修、细修、精修等反复百次的修琢,才能将二、三毫米厚的粗坯修至0.5毫米左右。胎体厚度大多在1毫米以内,人称之为:薄似蝉翼,亮如玻璃,轻若浮云。在薄胎上描绘有青花纹样,称青花薄胎瓷;描绘有粉彩纹样,称粉彩薄胎瓷。万历年间已生产出“卵幕杯”(薄如蛋壳的杯子,又称为“蛋壳杯”)、流霞盏等精制品。甜白釉瓷以其出色的胎釉质地、独到的造型设计、难以复制的釉色品质而享誉古今,本件作品在各个方面均完美展示了这种甜白釉的独特魅力,美轮美奂,为难得一见的珍贵名品。

Sweet white glaze is a kind of white glaze created by Yongle kiln. Because many of Yongle white porcelain products are thin to semi-embryonic, they can be illuminated and shaded. On the surface of the thin tire carved with dark glaze, the white glaze, which is as warm as jade, gives people a "sweet" feeling, so it is called "sweet white".


 

The bodiless production process of sweet white glaze is extremely complex. From ingredient, drawing, billet (repair), glazing to painting and firing, it has to go through more than 40 processes, all of which are manually fired three times. Especially the leverage and art processing are the most elaborate. The billet has to be roughed, fine repaired and refined for a hundred times before it can be roughed to about 0.5 mm thick by two or three millimeters. The thickness of the carcass is mostly less than 1 mm. It is called as thin as cicada wings, bright as glass and light as floating clouds. Blue-and-white pattern is depicted on thin embryos, which is called blue-and-white thin embryo porcelain, and pink pattern is depicted, which is called pink thin embryo porcelain. Wanli has produced "egg curtain cup" (thin as eggshell cup, also known as "eggshell cup"), Liuxia calendula and other refined products. Sweet white glaze is famous for its excellent texture, unique shape design and hard to copy glaze quality.
