陈鸣远，名远，号鹤峰，一号石霞山人，又号壶隐，清初康雍年间人，是清初宜兴著名的紫砂艺人。《宜兴县志》称陈鸣远是近百年来壶艺成就第一名手，不仅有一手制作的好功夫，自制自署，在继承的基础上不断创新，雕镂兼长，丰富了紫砂陶的造型艺术，发展了紫砂的品种，且铭刻书法亦古雅流利，别具非凡的晋唐风格，在宜兴紫砂工艺史上享有很高的地位。

陈鸣远还擅长雕镂堆花积泥，在紫砂壶上塑造出许多富于变化的立体雕饰。此外，他还制作了别具风格的紫砂案头摆件和陈设品，如异兽、梅干笔搁、三足龟提梁水注、伏蝉叶形碟、南瓜水滴、莲瓣水洗、竹段笔搁、八仙小件等，皆雅致精巧，趣味盎然，令人爱不释手，彰显了一代大师的高超技艺和审美情趣。该藏品选料考究，包浆老旧自然，款识正宗，保存完好，是一件不可多得的文人案头赏玩摆件，陈明远一生所创作的仿生紫砂摆件本来就较少，留存下来的就更少了，且多为小件，大个头的摆件尤为稀少，保存下来的就极为罕见。目前，紫砂器收藏方兴未艾，极为受宠，价格也被不断刷新，该藏品集名人制作和文玩雅器于一身，所以，极具艺术价值和升值价值。本品将在2019年8月13日于台北故宫博物院晶华亭上拍，如有意收藏的藏友们请尽快联系。
