玉人宫灯，在历史课本、文史科普读物中出镜率极高。这件玉人宫灯，通体如玉，造型为一双手执灯跽坐的佣人。1968年，宫灯发现于满城中山靖王王后窦绾墓，一出土就举世震惊。此灯之珍稀，不仅在于外形优美，更在于构造巧妙：整盏灯中空，各部分构件可灵活拆卸。佣人高举持灯的右臂是一条烟道，灯罩可以调节开合角度，灯点燃亮度可明可暗，有烟无尘。

美国前国务卿基辛格曾赞誉：“中国人在两千多年前就有了环保意识，了不起！”长久以来，玉人宫灯一直被认为是我国工艺美术品的巅峰之作和民族工艺的重要代表。
由于采取分别铸造然后合成一体的方法，考古学和冶金史专家一致公认。宫灯制作工艺精美绝伦艺术构思巧妙独特，是一件既实用又美观的灯具珍品，不但在汉代宫灯中首屈一指，更堪称“中华第一灯”。

西汉长信宫灯，中国汉代青铜器，1968年于河北省满城县（今河北省保定市满城县西南约1.5公里的山崖上）中山靖王刘胜妻窦绾[wǎn]墓中出土。2010年作为中国2010年上海世界博览会展品展出。宫灯灯体为一通体鎏金、双手执灯跽坐的宫女，神态恬静优雅。

长信宫灯设计十分巧妙，宫女一手执灯，另一手袖似在挡风，实为虹管，用以吸收油烟，既防止了空气污染，又有审美价值。此宫灯因曾放置于窦太后（刘胜祖母）的长信宫内而得名，现藏河北省博物馆。
