广东省造光绪元宝库平重壹两双龙寿字币铸于光绪三十一年(1905)初，为纪念慈禧六十寿辰而铸。张炯伯在《广东省造银币》一文中写道：“惟本品因未纪年，殊难遽断，然观其图案，谐作福寿，环绕双龙，幕无英文，意含颂祝，大异常制。由此以推，成为纪念币之一种，专铸以祝慈禧太后六旬万寿者也。

此币正面以珠圈为界，可分为内外两个部分：珠圈以外，上端为“广东省造”四字，下方为“库平重一两”五字，左右两侧各铸一蝙蝠图案，寓有吉祥的含义。因为，蝙蝠的“蝠”字与幸福的“福”字读音相同，而把蝙蝠图案铸在币面上，系取“蝠”、“福”两字谐音，珠圈以内，铸有满、汉文“光绪元宝”四字。背面也以珠圈为界：珠圈外面，铸有双龙图案;珠圈里面，铸有一圆形“寿”字，将它与背面的“寿”字相对应取意，便构成“福寿双全”之意。由于广东省造光绪元宝库平重壹两双龙寿字币不便于流通使用，故铸额极其稀少。

Because of the inconvenience of circulation and usage of Pingzhong and Shuanglongshou coins in Zhengguang Xuyuan Treasury in Guangdong Province, the casting amount is extremely scarce.
