民国三年铸造的袁世凯银币有很多不同的版本，在正面的图案是基本相同的，但是在背面的图案和一些细节方面还是有所不同的。民国三年版正面为袁世凯侧面像，上列“中华民国三年”。“年”字后没有“造”字，其他年版都在“年”字后面有一“造”字。三年版“民”字中有一“点”，而其他年版民字无“点”。铸造量较少的版别有：“O”记版、粗发版、三角圆版、开口贝版、加铸“甘肃”两字版、背双星版、大胡须版、大耳朵版等。
