光绪元宝是清朝光绪年间流通的货币之一。由两广总督张之洞率先引进英国铸币机器铸造银元和铜元，之后各省纷纷仿效，共有十九个省局铸造。光绪年间铸造了一系列银币，但江南省造光绪元宝由于不便于流通使用，故铸额极其稀少，更显珍贵。

Yuanbao of Guangxu is one of the currency circulating in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty. 江南省造光绪元宝系指清代光绪二十三年至三十一年(1897-1905年)由南京造币厂铸造的“光绪元宝”系列银币，系清代正式铸行的法定流通银币。但铸行江南省造银币的清末，已无江南省建制。

Guangxu Yuanbao of Jiangnan province refers to the "Guangxu Yuanbao" series of silver coins, which was cast by Nanjing mint from the 23rd to the 31st year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1897-1905). It is a legal circulation silver coin officially cast in the Qing Dynasty. But at the end of Qing Dynasty, there was no system of Jiangnan province.

 

江南省设于清朝顺治二年(1645年)，省府位于江宁(今南京)。清代的江南省前身是明朝的南直隶江南省，范围大致相当于今天的江苏省、上海市和安徽省。康熙六年(1667年)清廷撤江南省，分设江苏和安徽两个省。南京造币厂将其铸造的银币标明“江南省造”，是因为当时苏州已经有一个专铸机制铜元的造币厂，其铸造的铜元均标明“江苏省造”。为避免混淆，南京造币厂将其铸造的银币标明“江南省造”。系我国货币史上唯一有名无实的省份银币。

Jiangnan province was established in 1645, the second year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty, and the provincial capital is located in Jiangning (now Nanjing). Jiangnan Province in Qing Dynasty was formerly nanzhili Jiangnan Province in Ming Dynasty, and its scope is roughly equivalent to Jiangsu Province, Shanghai city and Anhui Province today. In the sixth year of Kangxi (1667), the Qing government withdrew Jiangnan province and divided it into two provinces, Jiangsu and Anhui. Nanjing Mint marked its silver coins as "made in Jiangnan province", because there was a mint in Suzhou at that time that specialized in the production of copper coins, and its copper coins were all marked as "made in Jiangsu Province". In order to avoid confusion, Nanjing Mint marked its silver coins as "made in Jiangnan province". It is the only provincial silver coin with no real name in the history of Chinese currency.

此枚钱币精品“光绪元宝江南省造庚子库平七钱二分”，其背蟠龙纹鳞甲别致，如颗颗珍珠镶嵌，故得别名“珍珠龙”版。图照可鉴，其无论文字和纹饰，皆十分精到，凸凹鲜明，文字笔划和纹饰线条圆滚，显示模具冲压着力深打，致其品相精美无比，其工艺水准也是至今之伪所不能矣。

江南省造庚子光绪元宝库平七钱二分，系南京造币厂于光绪二十六年(1900)铸造。银币正面中珠圈内镌满汉文“光绪元宝”四字，圈外上端镌“江南省造”，下端镌币重“库平七钱二分”，左右两侧分镌干支纪年“庚子”二字。银币背面中镌一个珍珠龙，上端镌英文“江南省”，下端镌英文币重“库平七钱二分”，左右两侧分别镌一个长六花星。

The seven coins and two cents of Guangxu Yuanbao treasury of zaogengzi in Jiangnan province was minted by Nanjing Mint in the 26th year of Guangxu (1900). On the obverse of the silver coin, the Pearl circle is engraved with the four characters of "Guangxu Yuanbao" in Chinese, on the top of the circle is engraved with "made in Jiangnan province", on the bottom is engraved with the word "Kuping seven coins and two cents", on the left and right sides are engraved with the word "gengzi" in the year of Ganzhi. The silver coin is engraved with a Pearl Dragon on the back, the English "Jiangnan province" on the top, the English coin weight "Kuping seven coins and two cents" on the bottom, and a six flower star on the left and right respectively.
