广东省造双龙寿字光绪元宝一枚，此币铸于光绪三十一年（1905）初，为纪念慈禧七十寿辰而铸（一说是光绪二十年铸）。张炯伯在《广东省造银币》一文中写道：“惟本品因未纪年，殊难遽断，然观其图案，谐作福寿，环绕双龙，幕无英文，意含颂祝，大异常制。由此以推，成为纪念币之一种，专铸以祝慈禧太后七旬万寿者也。”网上搜寻即可发现该币贴图，玲琅满目，款式众多，其中有真有假，难以分辨，足证明该款币是非常的珍稀，才会引起有心人来仿制伪造，图以牟利、现高仿品太多，只有其形而无其神，金属含量的比例是仿不出来的，也是辩别真伪的关键标准之一！。该款币确实有很多版本，今藉此一一叙明如后:

一、大直径(4.5公分)、大字版(汉字体较大一号)—直径:4.5公分；厚度:0.29公分；重量:介于37—37.5克间。又可分为三款:

(1)、币边铸有『鲁尔智 乔治造币厂…大清国样板币..等』字样之试铸币，『壹』字内倒三角(▼口)版本。(下之文章中简称为〝鲁币〞)

(2)、币边无铸文之『壹』字内倒三角(▼口)试铸币，为制造〝鲁币〞前之「原币」。

(3)、币边无铸文之正楷体(壹)字版本。

二、中直径分为二款(直径4.0-4.3公分)、小字版(汉字体较小一号)、正楷体字版本；厚度:0.3公分；:4.0公分重量:介于26.6-27.00克间,4.3公分重量:介于31—30克间。

三、小直径(3.9公分)，又可区分为二款:

(1)、小直径(3.9公分)、厚度:0.3公分、重量:介于26.6-27.00克之间。广东省造 库七钱二分，汉字为另一种书写法。

(2)、小直径(3.9公分)、厚度:0.3公分、重量:介于26.6-27.00克间。广东省造库平七钱二，汉字为另一种书写法。各位定纳闷为何是「库平七钱二」，少一个「分」字，由此币很清楚可看出该「库平七钱二」5字是刻意营造与上币道上之「广东省造」4字，成为『九五之尊』之势。

四、库平七钱二分、库平七钱二：后两种：直经3.9cm、厚度0.3cm、重26.60-27.00之间（自然磨损）。国家注册一级鉴定评估师李晓光老师说：从学术研究、探讨、客观公正来说双龙寿字币七钱二分是真实存在的、具体铸造数额不详，有可能是试机币、错版币（或是第一批送京的样币，因是为慈禧60大寿祝寿所铸，因为有个分字不吉利去掉分字改铸为七钱二，或慈禧70大寿祝寿去掉分字改铸为七钱二），因图录无记载、据野史只能推断以供学术研究！

“广东双龙寿字币一两、七钱二分、七钱二”银币的铸造，史料中没有确切记载，泉家们历来对于其具体铸造情况有不同的解读，至今没有定论。民国时期的张炯伯等学者认为:这种银币系光绪三十一年(1905)为纪念慈禧太后七十寿辰而铸造的。张炯伯在其《广东省造壹两银币》一文中称：“惟本品因未纪年，殊难遽断，然观其图案，谐作福寿，环绕双龙，幕无英文，意含颂祝，大异常制。由此以推，成为纪念币之一种，专铸以祝慈禧太后七旬万寿者也。

也有学者根据清末王述生所著《述庵秘录》的记载，认为系光绪二十年(1894年)广东巡抚刚毅为祝慈禧太后「六十寿辰」而铸造的祝寿币!据《述庵秘录》摘录：满人生性好财，其故由馈赠宫阃亲贵。包衣人严主仆之谊，主家贫困，包衣虽官宰辅，主至其家，则尊事若父母，有欲取辄携去，弗能较也。故满人应官多贪鄙，靡足言者。刚毅由清文翻译，历官部郎巡抚。不识汉文，好琐屑，自谓精能。巡抚广东，以甲午入都祝嘏（慈禧六旬寿），希大用。时内地通用银，广东独制银币。刚谓总办某道曰：“为我制银币三万（注：三种版别各三万枚还是三种版别共三万枚？不详），携入都。”某曰：“诺。”制成赍往，刚默然。至都，因内侍献慈禧，且言刚毅知万寿赏号繁，特铸币以表敬意。慈禧故喜，誉币新色可喜，遂饬收。刚寻入军机，某道亦不敢索偿。。。。

张执群先生收藏的《银圆造币钢模大全》》书中就收录有"广东省造寿字银币，钢模数套。书中收录有“广东省造寿字银币”钢模数套，分为七钱二分和一两共两种，其中就有《双龙寿字库平重壹两（阴翼纹-阳翼纹）和库平七钱二分》钢模。这也印证了“王述生”所著（述庵秘录 ）属实。 综上所述，可得出这样的结论：“双龙寿字”纹银币分三种版别，面值有两种。因此币是为祝贺“慈禧太后六十寿辰（1894年）而铸，故铸额稀少，留存至今的非常珍罕，这证明了广东曾同时铸造这两种面值的银币。
