中国古代钱币之一。　西汉末年王莽政权铸造，形制怪异，分为上下两部分，上部为方孔圆形铜钱，穿右左分别书契刀二字，下部为刀形。。“契刀五百”币，是西汉末期王莽居摄二年(公元7年)第一次币改时铸造的，当五百五铢钱。王莽币改的本意是将钱币大权牢牢掌握在朝廷手中，但实际上将老百姓的钱收进国库，造成大批百姓破产，逼得百姓揭竿而起。公元23年起义军攻破长安城，王莽被起义军杀死了。“契刀五百”钱一共才用了二年，但因制作精致，形态奇美，发行流通时间短，现存世量非常少，这在常州还是首次发现，故具有非常高的收藏价值，同时也是研究西汉末期钱币史的最好物证，具有一定的历史价值。此契刀五百，重：15.3g 长：67.85mm厚：2.42mm，此币身直书五百二字，币首为圆形方孔，刀环有“契刀”两个字，刀身铭“五百”二字，值五铢钱五百，品相保存完善，包浆浑厚自然，极美品，极具收藏价值。

One of the ancient Chinese coins. At the end of the Western Han Dynasty, it was cast by Wang Mang regime in a strange shape. It was divided into two parts: the upper part was a square hole round copper coin, and the right and left were respectively signed with the word "Dao". The lower part was shaped like a knife.. "Qidao 500" coin was coined in the second year of Wang mangju's reign (Ad 7) at the end of the Western Han Dynasty, when it was five hundred and five baht. The original intention of Wang Mang's coin reform was to firmly hold the power of coins in the hands of the imperial court, but in fact, the money of the common people was collected into the national treasury, resulting in the bankruptcy of a large number of people and forcing them to rise up. In 23 ad, the uprising army broke through Chang'an City, and Wang Mang was killed by the uprising army. "Qidao 500" money has only been used for two years. However, due to its exquisite production, wonderful shape, short circulation time and very few extant quantities, it is the first time to find it in Changzhou, so it has a very high collection value. It is also the best material evidence for the study of the coin history of the late Western Han Dynasty, which has a certain historical value.
