清代画家王翚，江苏常熟人，出生于公元1632年，于1717年逝世。王翚，字石谷，号耕烟散人、乌目山人等。与同时代的王时敏、王鉴、王原祁一起并称为“四王”，后来又加入了吴历、恽寿平，世称“清六家”。他的画风也对后世有一定的影响，还形成了一个叫做“虞山派”的派系。

　王翚早年继承家学，后来又拜了张珂为师，在很早的时候就表现出了非凡的绘画才能。王翚作品也是以山水画居多，不过就算同为山水画，同样是出自一人之手，王翚的山水画根据所作时间的不同，风格也是有点差异的。　

　王翚的山水画，主要就是分为早期、中期和晚期。25岁之前的王翚主要就是临摹古迹，当时的王翚笔法甚至都还不成熟，所作的作品显得有些幼稚。到了35岁以后的中年时期，王翚已经临摹了太多的前人优秀作品，从中学到了许多的优良技法。王翚集合了各个画家的长处，将它们都融为一体，运用与自己的绘画创作中。

　　中年时期的王翚绘画还十分讲究，不肯有一丝不满意的部分，十分严谨。因此这一时期也是王翚优秀作品频出的时期，《康熙南巡图卷》就是这一时期的作品之一。60岁以后的晚年时期，王翚的作品已经与之前有很多差距了。晚年时期的王翚总是忙于应酬，世人向他的讨画，他就随意的应付画几笔，有些甚至还找人代笔。不过就算是这样，王翚在晚年还是出过一些杰出的作品的。

　　王翚作品中早期的画风主要是清丽工秀，晚期则有苍茫浑厚之感。他的作品在清朝时极负盛名，在“四王”中是比较突出的。王翚作品历年来的市场价都比较高，因此一直受到收藏家们的热烈欢迎。其中在1986年时，他的一幅山水册以39万6千美元的价格被拍卖。之后虽然价格没有这个高，但是王翚依然是清朝这些画家中价格较高的了。

Wang Hui's works are mostly landscape paintings, but even if they are both landscape paintings, they are also made by one person. Wang Hui's landscape paintings have different styles depending on the time they were made.　

　Wang Yi's landscape paintings are mainly divided into early, middle and late stages. Before the age of 25, Wang Hui was mainly copying historical sites. At that time, Wang Hui's brushwork was not even mature, and his works seemed a little naive. In the middle age after 35 years old, Wang Hui had copied too many excellent works of his predecessors and learned many excellent techniques. Wang Hui gathered the strengths of various painters, integrated them into one, and used them in his own painting creation.

　　The middle-aged Wang Hui's paintings are still very particular, and he refuses to have any dissatisfaction. He is very strict. Therefore, this period was also a period when Wang Hui's excellent works frequently appeared. "Kangxi Southern Tour Picture Scroll" is one of the works of this period. In his later years after the age of 60, Wang Hui's works have been far from before. In his later years, Wang Hui was always busy with entertainment. When the world asked him for painting, he would freely deal with a few strokes, and some even asked for a ghostwriter. But even so, Wang Hui still produced some outstanding works in his later years.

　　The early painting style in Wang Hui's works is mainly pure and beautiful, while the later period has a sense of vast and profound. His works were extremely famous in the Qing Dynasty, and were prominent among the "Four Kings". The market price of Wang Hui's works has been relatively high over the years, so it has been warmly welcomed by collectors. Among them, in 1986, one of his landscape albums was auctioned for 396,000 US dollars. Although the price was not as high after that, Wang Hui was still the higher price among these painters in the Qing Dynasty.
