[collection appreciation]: bronze wares of the Qing Dynasty are quite different from those of the Shang and Zhou dynasties in both use and nature. In the Shang and Zhou dynasties, bronzes were the symbol of aristocratic families. In order to carry forward their ancestors' virtues and carve their merits, the aristocrats cast bronzes and recorded them in the inscriptions. The number of ritual vessels is a symbol of the nobility hierarchy. By the Qing Dynasty, bronze ware had lost its significance. It was mainly divided into two parts. One part was practical utensils, such as censer, tripod, bottle, pot, turtle, crane, sheep, deer, etc., which were mainly used in life, sacrifice and various rituals. This part of the bronze ware is similar to the original in shape, with the style of Shang and Zhou bronzes. In the decoration, there is no strict imitation of the patterns of Shang and Zhou bronzes. There are three different patterns on the bottle mouth, bottle body and bottle bottom.

Casting bronze Buddha statues and Taoist utensils. In the Qing Dynasty, the imperial court successively set up a bronze ware making office, which made a large number of various kinds of bronze wares, which were used as the furnishings of the inner court, the offerings of Buddhist halls, and the altars in the suburbs of the Taimiao temple. In particular, the most popular antiques in the palace of Qianlong Dynasty are related to Emperor Qianlong's character and feelings.
