嘉庆通宝铸于清仁宗嘉庆年间(1796-1820年)。钱面文字"嘉庆通宝"以楷书书写，从上而下而右而左直读。钱背满文左"宝"，右记局名呈圆形，中心有方孔，形制较小，这种小的钱币如今很少，比较珍稀，钱体呈暗褐色包浆，锈色得当、天然，质地为精质黄铜。重：钱面文字“嘉庆通宝”以楷书书写，从上而下而右而左直读。钱背穿孔左边镌一满文“宝”字，穿右为满文锻造钱局名。
