后人总结这种成型模式，把自然界、动植物界的自然形态，用浮雕、半浮雕等造型装饰设计成仿生象形的茶壶，称之味“花货”。它是用提炼取舍、变形、夸张的艺术手段，表现自然形态中富有美学价值的部分，并符合功能合理、视觉美观和使用安全的使用原则或者在几何形体上运用雕镂捏塑，将自然形态变化为造型的部件，如嘴、鋬。总之，几乎所有与民生关联的动植物，如梅、竹、柏、桃、莲、青蛙、蝴蝶、松鼠、蝉等，都在紫砂艺人的造型视野之内，成为紫砂艺人的美好想象和幸福憧憬的题材。
