In the column of "collection and recommendation" of 2019 Art Festival, in order to show the collection to the vast majority of collection friends to the maximum extent, this site specially sends this article, in order to connect with the buyer and the seller, and share the art feast with the public at the international auction Art Festival.

Silver ingot is a kind of silver ingot. Before Sui and Tang Dynasties, silver ingot was called "silver cake" and "silver collar", flat silver coins were called "plate", "wat" and "plate", bar shaped silver coins were called "collar" and "ting". After Song Dynasty, silver ingot was renamed "silver ingot". In the Yuan Dynasty, it was called "Yuanbao" in addition to the silver ingot, and the form changed into horseshoe shape, so it was also called "horseshoe silver". The word "Yuanbao" was used in Ming and Qing Dynasties.

In the Qing Dynasty, the parallel standard system of silver and money was implemented, which stipulated that one or two thousand yuan and one or two silver coins should be made. Silver is the legal currency. It is not only used for private transaction collection, but also used for the government to collect the local people's taxes, thus forming the silver system. In the Qing Dynasty, most of the silver appeared in the shape of horseshoe, so it is also called Baoyin. After melting and casting, it can be divided into large ingot, medium ingot and small ingot, commonly known as silver ingot or silver ingot, in addition to broken silver. Since all regions can melt and cast Baoyin by themselves, although the types and names of Baoyin are generally the same across the country, their color and weight are not the same. Silver with different color and name is used everywhere, and there is a certain conversion ratio for mutual exchange.

The group (4 pieces) of peanut and silver ingots that Ms. yuan has been invited by our company recently belong to the unique variety of silver ingots from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China in Gansu Province. The silver ingots are generally well preserved, with good quality, clear handwriting and high silver content. Each silver ingot has a different place name on the top and a silversmith's name on the bottom.

Silver and silver ingots of peanut tax in Qing Dynasty (group one)

Zhengning Lu Shengkui: weight 79.2g; Xining mansion Dong Yizheng: weight 61.7g

dongyizheng, Hezhou: weight 86.1g ; Luzhengkui, Hezhou: weight 75.3g;

As shown in the figure above, this kind of small ingot with girdle shaped waist is commonly known as "peanut ingot" in the field of coins because it looks like peanut. It is a unique variety of silver ingot from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China in Gansu Province. At present, there are no more than ten kinds of small ingot with girdle shaped waist known to exist in different places. The inscriptions are "Liangzhou mansion", "Ningxia mansion", "Xining mansion", "Zhengning", "Jiezhou", "Hezhou", "Longde" and "Wenxian" "Micro county" and so on. The names of silversmiths are scratched horizontally on the top of ingot surface and vertically on the bottom. Although the names of silversmiths are different, their shapes and sizes are almost the same. They should be peanut silver ingots made by silversmiths in Gansu Province according to the unified regulations of the government. Apart from normal trade transactions, some silver ingots are mainly used for paying taxes.

Dongyizheng peanut silver ingot, weighing 86.1g, also comes from the local bank of Gansu in the Qing Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, it was subordinate to Gansu Province. In 1729, it was upgraded to Zhili Prefecture, which was under the jurisdiction of Wudu District, Longnan City, Gansu Province.

"Zhengning lushengkui" peanut silver ingot, well preserved, weighs 79.2g, with the name "Zhengning" written on it and the silver craftsman's name "lushengkui" printed on it. The name of Zhengning comes from the first year of Yongzheng (1723). In order to avoid the taboo of "Yinzhen" of Shizong, it was changed to Zhengning. The name of Zhengning was first seen in history.

"Dong Yizheng" peanut silver ingot, 75.3g, with the name of "He Zhou" in the upper part and the name of "Dong Yizheng" in the lower part. The ancient city of Hezhou, located in the south of Gansu Province, is today's Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu Province. Although the silver ingot has experienced the impact of wind, frost, rain and snow, it is still well preserved. Like the other three pieces of silver ingots, it is the best one handed down today.

In 1933, the government of the Republic of China implemented "Abolishing the two reforms" (at that time, the merchants exchanged silver ingots for silver dollars from the government, and the government converted tens of millions of silver coins back into silver dollars). After thousands of years from silver ingots to the Tang and Song Dynasties, it finally withdrew from the stage of historical circulation. Therefore, the above collections are very rare collections with high historical value and collection price Value.
