Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, took the lead in introducing British coinage machines to cast silver and copper coins, which were followed by other provinces. A total of 19 provincial bureaus cast copper coins, except for the central household department and local provinces, all of which are inscribed with provincial names on their front upper edges.

清朝初年设置江南省。辖地范围为如今的江苏、安徽、浙江、福建、江西、湖南等，之后江南省辖地范围逐渐减少，直至划分为江苏、安徽两省。江南省所铸的机制币在市场上流通的时候，江南省早已不复存在了，故它是我国货币历史上唯一有省份之名分而无实际省份的一种钱币。

Jiangnan province was set up in the early Qing Dynasty. The area under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, etc., and then the area under the jurisdiction of Jiangnan Province gradually decreased until it was divided into Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. When the mechanism coin cast by jiangnan province was in circulation in the market, jiangnan province had already ceased to exist, so it was the only coin with the name of a province but no actual province in China's currency history.

这枚江南省造光绪元宝十文铜圆，正面上缘“江南省造”，“江南省造”的两侧左“乙”右“巳”，下缘“每元当制钱十文”，中间是汉文“光绪元宝”四字，中心有两个满文，译成汉字是“宝苏”两个字，左“宝”由“苏”；钱币背面上缘“KIANG-SOO”,下缘“TEN CASH”,两侧各有一个实心五瓣花，中间一条长七尾飞龙，币面文字笔意浑厚，结体方正凝重，意态跌宕万端，于晚清龙洋中独具一格，素为收藏者钟爱。

This 10-character copper circle of Guangxu Yuanbao made in jiangnan province has the front upper edge "Made in jiangnan province", "Made in jiangnan province" on both sides left "B" and right "Si", the lower edge "Ten characters for each yuan", and the Chinese character "Guangxu Yuanbao" in the middle. There are two Manchu characters in the center, which are translated into Chinese characters as "Bao Su", and the left "Bao" is made by "Su" On the back of the coin, there is a solid five-petal flower TEN CASH side and a long seven-tailed dragon in the middle. The words on the coin face are rich in brushwork, dignified in structure, and full of ups and downs. It is unique in Long Yang in the late Qing Dynasty and has always been loved by collectors.
