爵作为饮酒之器，早在公元前2400年左右就已经出现。陶爵流行于夏、商，铜爵流行于商和西周，西周以后便罕见爵杯的踪迹了，到了秦汉时期，人们几乎不知爵为何物了。

After the Western Zhou Dynasty, there were few traces of goblet. By the Qin and Han Dynasties, people almost didn't know what jue was.

 

爵，饮酒器和礼器。流行于夏商周时期，作用相当于酒杯。圆腹，也有个别方腹，一侧的口部前端有流（即倒酒的流槽），后部有尖状尾，流与口之间有立柱，腹部一旁有把手，下有三个锥状长足。夏代爵胎体轻薄，制作粗糙；椭圆形器身，流长而狭，短尾，流口间多不设柱，平底，一般没有铭文和花纹，偶见有连珠纹者。商早期流与口之间开始出现短柱，下腹部中空；有的透镂有圆孔，以便温酒加火时透风。商中期后，爵演变为圆身，圆底，流口增高，多设一柱或二柱，柱身加长并向后移，三足粗实且棱角分明，器身加厚。商晚期至西周早期爵体厚重，制作精美；爵身饰有饕餮、云雷、蕉叶等精美的纹饰，上端和柱上也饰有动物形象。有少数无柱而带盖的爵，盖铸成兽首形。西周前期还有一种器表铸有扉棱的爵，往往以云雷纹作底，饰有两层或三层花纹，纹饰繁而精美。西周后期，爵逐渐消失。

On one side of the mouth there is a flow at the front (i.e., a flow trough for pouring wine), and on the back there is a pointed tail with a column between the flow and the mouth. On the side of the abdomen there is a handle and three cones at the bottom. Xia Dai Jue body thin, rough production; Elliptic body, flow length and narrow, short tail, flow between the column, flat bottom, generally no inscriptions and patterns, occasionally seen with the line. In the early shang dynasty, a short column appeared between the flow and the mouth, and the lower abdomen was hollow. Some have holes carved in a circular pattern to allow the air to flow when the wine is heated. After the middle Shang Dynasty, the goblet evolved into a round body with a round bottom, increased flow, and more than one or two columns. The column body was lengthened and moved backward. The three legs were thick and angular, and the body was thickened. From the late Shang dynasty to the early Western Zhou Dynasty, the jue body was thick and thick, and its production was exquisite. The body is decorated with exquisite decorative patterns such as Taotie, Yunlei and banana leaves, and the upper part and the pillar are also decorated with animal images. And there were a few jowls without pillars and with a lid, which was cast in the shape of a beast's head. In the early Western Zhou Dynasty, there were also castings with cascades, usually with cloud and thunder grain as the bottom, decorated with two or three layers of decorative patterns, which were numerous and exquisite. Later in the Western Zhou Dynasty, Jue gradually disappeared.

 

此藏品为战国时期青铜爵杯。此器为青铜材质，造型端庄大方，其口沿外撇，前尖后翘，两侧有对称的立柱，圆腹略深，腹部一侧还有一环形把手，下承三棱形外撇高足。爵杯是古代礼器.和饮酒器具，盛行于战国时期。

This collection is a bronze goblet from the Warring States Period. It is made of bronze with dignified and generous shape.
